Our Mission
What We Stand For
At Chabad, every person is welcomed with unconditional love and respect. Our mission is to educate, inspire and empower every Jew in Elstree & Borehamwood to increase their level of Jewish knowledge, enthusiasm and commitment.
Our Facilities
Warmth, Love & Jewish Education
The Jewish Life Centre will provide programmes, events, and educational classes together with social experiences for Jewish people of all ages and stages of life. The success of this will be powered by the well known attitude of Chabad to be warm, welcoming, and accepting of all Jews regardless of background, knowledge, or affiliation.

The Vision behind
The Logo
The Logo was professionally designed by graphic and branding designer Rivkie Grunwald from New York. The vision of a cutting edge icon that resembles the menorah, a universal Jewish symbol in a unique and modern way!
The branding colour of rose red, which was carefully selected to bring the elements of both these colours. Red is a symbol of love and passion, while the rose which has a pink tinge symbolises peace, stability and spirituality. The rose red combines the two and creates an important impact in any setting. Having this colour as the branding colour of the Jewish Life Centre we hope to imbue both the elements of love and passion for Yiddishkeit, as well as bringing peace, stability and spirituality to each one of us, our homes, the Jewish community and the world!
The different branches of the abstract version of the Menorah represents various kinds of people, from different backgrounds, affiliations and ways of life all coming together. The Jewish Life Centre brings unity, friendship and love for all.
Understanding
Chabad
Today, over 3,500 Chabad institutions are located in more than 85 countries, with a new couple moving on shlichus every ten days! In South Africa, South America, Russia, Australia, the UK, and across the USA, Chabad has become arguably the most dynamic and dominant force within the Worldwide Jewry.
Meet
The Shluchim
Rabbi Chaim & Leah Hoch moved to the Elstree and Borehamwood area in 2011 with their baby Tamar. Now, going on eight years later, they and their four girls are instrumental in running Chabad in the area and founding the Jewish Life Centre.
We would love to personally meet you, have you over for a shabbat meal, or just to chat. Our home is open for you! Be in touch
The Trustees
Our Board of Trustees are responsible for the overall governance of the charity. They ensure that the Jewish Life Centre is carrying out its charitable role for the benefit of the Elstree & Borehamwood community, and help to shape the future.
